Organ Extravaganza – Weald & Downland Museum

The Musical Box Society will be mounting an exhibition, playing musical boxes and small mechanical instruments at the Weald & Downland Museum’s Organ Extravaganza on 21st July. Come and see us, and listen to the sounds of street and carousel organs that you hear on your visit to the fairground and enjoy the buskers’ organs on the streets, as they wind their handles to create that wonderful upbeat music.
It will all be here at the Weald & Downland Living Museum on Sunday, 21 July.
Some of the organs were built dating back before the turn of the century.
See and hear how they work, listen to all the different sounds from the smallest hand turned organ to the mighty large fairground organ.
A complete fun day out with mechanical music for the whole family.
