We encourage, faciliate and sponsor research into mechanical music.

We sponsored film student Florence Kennard’s film, ‘Automatic Dreams’, about the appeal and production of musical boxes. We have also assisted Dr Emily Baines of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in her research into historic performance practice, and Emily Loeffler obtain her PhD from the University of Oregon with research on the ‘Ranz des vaches‘ genre.

The ongoing collation of musical box tune sheets and our register are valuable resources for scholars and collectors.
